Cheryl M.  Borud
Cheryl M. "Cheri" Borud, 72, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2018. She was born on May 26, 1945 to Frederick J. "Fritz" Howlett II and Dorothy (Hume) Howlett in Omaha, NE. She graduated from Fenger High School in Chicago. She married Bruce K. Borud on August 10, 1968.

Cheri is survived by her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Bruce Borud of Indianapolis; four loving children, Bradford (Althea) Borud of Dallas, TX, Cimberly (Greg) McClelland of Mooresville, Christine (Andy) Porter of Chattanooga, TN and Courtney (John) Cowley of Plainfield; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Frederick J. "Rick" III and James Howlett. She is preceded in death by her loving parents.

Cheri was an Administrative Assistant for Decatur Township Schools for over 30 years, retiring in 2011. She was a Quaker Haven George Fox Camp Director. She was a very active member at Fairfield Friends Meeting where she served as trustee, involved in Christian Education, Ministry & Evangelism, Sunday School Teacher for 35 years and Children's Church. She was a member and President of PTA for several years. She lived in Indianapolis since 1973 and grew up in Chicago where she met her husband, Bruce.

Family and friends may gather to pay their respects from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 3rd in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville and 9:30-10 a.m. on Friday, May 4th in Fairfield Friends Meeting, 10441 E. County Road 700 South, Camby. Pastor Philip Gulley and Chase Slaughter will officiate Cheri's celebration of life memorial service at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 4th in Fairfield Friends Meeting. Cheri will be laid to rest in Fairfield Friends Cemetery in a private family graveside service at a later date.
